WE ARE EITHER ALL TOGETHER OR ALL ALONE!
YA HEMİ BA HEM, YA HEMİ TENHA!
The protests following the torture and murder of Mahsa Amini by regime officials in Iran have turned into a wave of revolts involving large sections of the society and spread to all cities in the country. The people of Iran demand their fundamental rights and freedoms, their right to dress freely in particular. Behind the extensiveness and strength of the protests is the impact of the perpetual injustice of the policies of the regime. Since 2017, the people of Iran have almost without interruption been raising their voice to object and protest against injustice, bigotry, and state violence.
The Mullah regime ties any difficulty that it faces to the embargo and the US, labels anyone demanding justice and freedom a spy, and imprisons or even executes them. The regime owes its survival to the support by a shrinking yet strong group of zealots and more significantly to a political system built on violence. In order to sustain this system, even the smallest act of organisation is prevented. The primary strategy of the regime is to leave the people unorganised.
Deriving its strength from collectivity and righteousness despite being deprived of the right to organise and of coordination, the people of Iran continue to be the nightmare of the regime. The country that the people, especially the women, in Iran long for and deserve will come through any day now.
The Workers’ Party of Turkey stands in solidarity with the people, especially the women, of Iran in their struggle for freedom and equality. There is not a single revolutionist in Turkey whose hearth does not ache with the pain caused by the death of Mahsa.
As the revolutionists in Iran sings: “Ya hemi ba hem, ya hemi tenha.” That is, “either each becomes one with the other, or all will be alone.”
Our liberation can only be achieved through unity, it can only be achieved by organising.
Long live the undying resistance of the women of Iran!
Long live the struggle for freedom and equality of the people of Iran!
